I'm a big fan of cactus, and the only thing I've ever found that negatively stood out in his games was not being able to pause. Sure it's not too bad, but when your phone rings during the last boss of Clean Asia!'s china level...

I'll third it. Too bad I'm too lazy to fix it. I'll try to keep it in mind for future games though

I think it's alright for games that you can leave alone for a while not to have a pause function (like Mondo Medicals), but some of your future shmups should have.

My only complaint about your games I'd say is that while the shmups are simple and effective at being fun, the adventures are also really short. GCTTC had closure and was fine in that respect, but Psychosomnium really left me wanting more, and I saw potential for more. A while ago you said you were considering taking on a longer project or two, and I would suggest a longer adventure game.

Brain Damaged Toon Underworld was originally the sequel to Psychomnium but then evolved into its own story- I would bet money that when it comes out you'll see tons of similarities.

No game is perfect, obviously pause buttons, save features, etc would be cool, but the one thing I'd want most is to be able to play in windowed mode... I think on some computers you can just press alt + enter, but on Vista that doesn't work... Unless I'm missing something.

The forums "Cactus Games" and "Player Comments" seem virtually the same to me. Would you consider merging them?

The forums "Cactus Games" and "Player Comments" seem virtually the same to me. Would you consider merging them? There was a meaning to that when I started the forum, as people weren't allowed to create their own topics in the Cactus Games section, but allowed to do so here (and I didn't have topics for all my games). Since I created the blog, that forum has gotten a bit obsolete, but I'm not sure I want to merge them.

Interesting! I find your opinion very interesting, I'll see if interesting things can happen if I stop using the word interesting. It will be interesting to see the interesting results of this interesting experiment.
