Hahaha, give it a rest, agu. I do whatever I want. I won't make porn games, don't worry. But nudity is not the same thing as porn. Neither SeizureDome, nor Ad Nauseam 2 has any intention of arousing their players, and that's what porn is all about. Have you never seen an action movie with a sex scene or two?

There's not much negative to say about your games, cactus. The few things I would complain about are the following: 1) Mondo Medicals: I bet level 8 per pure luck, when I went to the right room, turned around and suddenly saw the exit. I think level 8 is much too hard and wouldn't be angry if you change it 2) Seizuredome: Sometimes there come 4 cars at once, what gives you no chance to survive. Maybe you could limit that to 2 cars at once? (I don't bother with the nudity agu is argueing about. As you correctly said, nudity is not porn.) 3) Shotgun Ninja: Ok, if you READ the readme and spoil everything, you know how to beat the boss. But if you don't read it - like me - you don't know what to do at all. Maybe you could put a little hint somewhere? 4) Silent Chain: I think the orbs grow a bit too fast, I crashed into spikes like 1000 times because the orb was suddenly too big. That's everything coming to my mind now. Hope I helped you a bit (and you're not too mad at me)

The only thing I dislike about your games, cactus, is the atrociously random endings. I can't tell if you put no thought or tons of thought into them. Other than that, you are one of my favorite developers.
PS. Agu should learn to type before flaming your games.

I forgot to say a general thing I dislike on your games: None of them supports QWERTZ-keyboards, like mine. That kills a lot of fun (e.g Burn The Trash and Clean Asia)

Cactus I worry about you. Ever since the GDC, and a little before, you've been slow to release games. We don't get the wonderful 1-2 hours games you made anymore. You've spent so much time working on BDTUW that I'm not longer excited about it.
I miss your old style. I miss the enthusiasm and I miss the games. Please go back to the way you were before. You don't need to have amazing endings, story, or graphics, you need to be yourself. You shouldn't care what other game developers think. You should be you and make your games. The way you did.

In the first paragraph I thought you were only kidding. But in the second paragraph I became a little worried about you, in the fact that you were not joking yet being totally serious. I think its fine if he takes longer making his games. Please give this man time to experiment with shit. You cannot rush a genius. Good day.

You cannot rush a genius. Good day. There's only so much you can kiss his ass before you start doing cactus a disservice. Also, lose the monocle and top hat, it makes you sound ridiculous. The guy is good at making games, that doesn't make him a genius. This is the negative feedback thread, not the "how dare u say bad thigs about cactas!!11`11" thread. He genuinely wants the feedback, regardless of what it is. Shoo. That said, I hope you will consider forsaking the really long term projects, cactus. I realize many of your best games were made over a period of time, but some very awesome games by you have been made in the span of a few days. I worry that if the delay between games drags out too long (2.5 months between Shotgun Ninja and AN2) you'll lose the pacing and constant feedback loop your games got you, and I would hate to see your longterm project games turn into vaporware.

Well, since GDC I've finished Ad Nauseam 2, Cactus Arcade and Space Fuck. Meanwhile I've also worked very hard on BDTUW. I think it's got about an hour worth of gameplay time already. I just really hate that I haven't made any game that people like better than Clean Asia. I mean it was over a year ago and I've made quite a few games since then, many with more interesting ideas and graphics than CA, but it's the game with the most polish and gameplay time that they like.
I'm also working on a payroll now, and I don't think small games will cut it if I want my games to start making money. As I've said, I still want to make small games on the side, but keeping a constant stream up might not be as easy as before.
That said, I've got a few smaller half finished projects that I intend to complete rather soon, and will also be making a short game for Lo-Fi Minds soonish.

Here we can witness cactus shifting from an indie folk hero to a commercial for-the-public developer

I wouldn't take it that far, but I do want to start making enough money to move out of my parents' apartment. I'm already 23, it feels like it's about time

Well if it makes ya feel better I could remind ya that I didn't like Clean Asia much at all. I really enjoyed Psychowotsit ('cept for the bee spike insanity but you know that), and I donated happily for Achoochoo and liked the demo for Trippy Tilty Head Thing and shall look forward to finished versions of both those last two games. One day, I shall remember the proper names of those games, or at least be unlazy enough to look them up properly.

Strangely, when I read that, you had a British accent... Don't listen to people, do what you want

Let's keep it civil guys. I'm no genius but if people want to flatter me that way, then I won't stop them deceasedcrab has a point and so does TGOC (if someone wants to respond to criticism posted here, that should be ok, no?). Ultimately the decision in this matter is up to me. I will finish BDTUW and we'll see afterwards if that is a wise choice or not. I can always go back to making many small games as fast as I can if I want to. PS. Read my sig and stare at the avatar, guys. I promote peace and love, not intolerance and anger
