I used to love it, and I still think it's a pretty decent movie. But Peter Jackson ruined his image when he started making shit like Lord of the Rings and King Kong, and I haven't been able to enjoy his old stuff as much since.

Dead Man's shoes is a very good British (I think) take on the slasher flick. Paprika is one of the best science fiction movies I've ever seen, partly because it manages to make the ending really sweet and touching without being syrupy. Baghead is another really funny and clever take on low-budget slasher flicks.

The last few good movies I saw were "In Bruges", "RocknRolla", and "Mister Lonely."

Brazil is awesome. It's like 1984 with plastic surgeries, art deco and bureaucracy. And pipes. And Robert De Niro. ---- so true...

You know i actually really really liked Eraserhead and i dont really know why, never actually watched it through more than once though. It's kind of a once-off experience for me. as for anime the only movie or show that i really liked was hellsing ultimate, though it was kinda stupid it was stupid in a fun way and not the cliche anime way. quite a bit of gore too. In Bruges was good, my favourite movie in that sort of crime area thing would probably be Snatch or Pulp Fiction. I really liked Reservoir dogs, too, and i couldn't say that too much of the dialogue was pointless. Death Proof, on the other hand, would have fared better as a non-stop action flick in my opinion. I never really got into horror or gore flicks, though i want to. never really found too many decent ones, but i'll take the forums' suggestions! I've been meaning to see bad taste and cannibal holocaust for a while anyway.

Also "Moon". Probably the greatest movie of the past decade? Ambitious. It was cool but it wasn't that cool. Gotta say at least Donnie D was better then that. Your right in saying we havent really had that many good movies this decade, like cult classics or anything like that.

i think The Fall was a really great and underappreciated movie. at any rate, it wins in originality. but trainspotting is still the best ever
