I've seen all of about 2 anime series and films I've actually enjoyed, the rest generally make me want to gouge my brains out. I did watch all of Full Metal Alchemist once, but eventually the close-up minimalist expression things they do in almost all anime and the terrible ending ruined any good things about it.
Akira and Cowboy Bebop for anyone wondering, there are a few other anime series and films which I liked but they weren't great enough for me to remember. Also, has anyone noticed that all anime episodes are about 10 minutes long when you take away the opening and closing song as well as the really long re-cap of the previous storylines.

Donnie Darko, Lost in Translation, The Matrix(first, i didnt bother watching 2&3), Reservoir Dogs, are some of my favorite movies that haven't been mentioned^. Reservoir Dogs reminds me of The Usual Suspects (trying to figure out who's who), except you're seeing everything unfold for most of the movie, instead of flashback style. I thought Heat and 16 Blocks were well-done "action" movies. The second bank robbery in Heat seems to take up the second of half of the movie . A friend of mine was telling me about Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Oldboy.. they sound unnerving? and interesting. I'll give them a shot some time.

Reservoir Dogs is defineatly an awesome movie, as is the Usual Suspects. Thing about Reservoir Dogs is Quentin Tarantino always has long what seems to be pointless dialogue in his movies.
Didn't care too much for Donnie Darko. It was okay I guess. Been a few years since I watched it.
I've never seen or heard about Heat and 16 Blocks. I'll try and check them out when I get a chance. I just saw Rambo two weekends ago. It is hilariously action packed and is only an hour and twenty minutes or so, which is good, because that is only how long it needs to be.

Yeah man, I hear you. A perfect example of pointless dialog would be Death Proof, although the diner scene in Reservoir Dogs is pretty funny. ;D

I like "The Prestige". It's not as weird of gory or anything like that but it makes you think. It's about two magicians fighting till they make clones.

Aside from being a well done movie, it's also a real trip. It's worth it to watch it more than once--you pick up on so many more clues and hints the second time around. Say, that reminds me! I watched the Twin Peaks pilot recently. I thought it dragged a little bit in parts, but the ending (and Agent Cooper, who is fantastic) really made me want to watch the rest of the series. I'll have to hunt down the rest of the DVDs.

Never saw "The Prestige", but Nolan's (the director's) another film, "Memento", is one of my all-time favourites.

Yeah, I thought Memento was better than Prestige. I figured out Prestige somewhere in the middle.
The pilot in Twin Peaks isn't half as good as the following 16 episodes or so, but somewhere after that the show starts to flip out and lose a lot of it's good sides.

Shigurui, Kemono Zume, Trava Fist Planet, Nekojiru cactus you may be my new favorite person. i dont think i know anyone who has seen all of those shows. and i thought stalker could have been good if like, two hours were cut out. also, if you liked tetsuo, have you seen pinnochio 964 or rubbers lover? or meatball machine but thats more just ridiculous gore.

pinnochio 964 or rubbers lover? or meatball machine but thats more just ridiculous gore. I've heard of the first two. I saw a trailer for rubbers lover, which was one of the prettiest teasers I've ever seen, but I haven't been able to track it down so that I could watch the whole film. I was also partially afraid that it might end up like a slow paced art flick, like Eraserhead, which isn't completely my thing.

rubbers lover starts out a little slow and gets insane. eraserhead was kind of slow all the way through.
rubbers lover and pinnochio 964 are very simlar to tetsuo, and i would definitely reccoment them. meatball machine is just pure madness, like flash tank cannons growing out of peoples arms that shoot bone missiles that explode in blood. good movie.
also machine girl if youve not seen is pretty ridiculous, and im still waiting for tokyo gore police.
but yeah watch those.
also how awesome was shigurui.

also how awesome was shigurui. Very awesome. A bit slow and confusing compared to the manga, but the mood more than made up for it, I thought.
