Haha, that's neat. Are you Japanese or are you studying Japanese?

Haha, that's neat. Are you Japanese or are you studying Japanese? I've been self-studying the language for 3 years. I think there's a member here who is Japanese. He only posted on the Psychosomnium thread here, though. When I become fluent enough, I'd probably be trying to translate the entire website into Japanese if I could.

Pardon the double-post. This is a just-for-fun script translation of Mondo Agency (deemed Mondo Dairiten in Japanese), but who knows? Maybe the completed script could be inserted into the game in the future. Click for the Mondo Dairiten script translation.P.S. I left out some lines, but some of them are either repeats (only with minor differences such as the Region) and some I forgot to look at in-game.

Fantastic stuff. Hey JohtoKen, I plan to interview a couple of Japanese developers; are you interested in doing translations for them? Might be a lot of work though... That is, after you've done translating all of cactus' games.

Fantastic stuff. Hey JohtoKen, I plan to interview a couple of Japanese developers; are you interested in doing translations for them? Might be a lot of work though... That is, after you've done translating all of cactus' games. Funny thing about this translation ordeal...I'm not Japanese. Also, I'm not proficient enough to translate live...yet. I'm still struggling on translating Mondo Dairiten, and even when I complete the script, I still have to word check the content and such. (Most of why I'm having trouble with Dairiten is because of the deliberately bad grammar and the decision on whether to retain it or not.)

Of course you'd need to retain it to retain the very spirit of the game - translation is no easy task. Also, 3 years is not that long

Mondo Byouin translation will be put on hold in favor of finishing Mondo Dairiten translation.
Because of character map limitations, I can't just directly patch up Mondo Dairiten with the Japanese script. The process I have to go through is that I need to type this stuff up on WordPad (in the respective font), printscreen WordPad, center the text (by a close 5x5 pixel offset on all sides), save, and repeat. Cactus will then, somehow, find a way to apply this to the game.
Also, pardon the double-post.

UPDATE. Converted Submission 3 Cutscene, Submission 7 Cutscene, and Final Submission Text back to - status due to a fix in writing styles.
The change in particular was turning the Negative Imperative form from plain (plain verb + な) to polite (polite (ます) verb form - ます + なさるな).
Also, moved the information about the Mondo Dairiten translation to the top of the page.
I will keep updates here. I don't want people to think I'm spamming due to multiple posting.

Updated. Submission 7 Text and some other stuff I forgot is now complete. Only 7 more [non-terminal sequence] lines to translate, text-to-imaging to be done, and possibly patching from Cactus.
I have poured all my blood, sweat, tears, and DICTIONARIES into this project. I think this may turn out great, and hopefully this translation will be a step to broadening the audience of Cactus' video games.
If anyone requests it, I can give the link to the image files.
ANOTHER UPDATE. I have now found a way to bypass the ASCII limitation of the Mondo Dairiten terminal by using a direct input Katakana font for Mondo Dairiten. Unfortunately, it's all Katakana, which means I can't make use of any English characters OR numbers in the terminal.
This may mean I will have to drop some lines from the initial script, mainly the ones that involve any sort of lettering or numbers (lines 005, 006, 010, and 011).
I do not think I can do the terminal sequence successfully due to the lack of a NORMAL direct input katakana font.

I don't know, but I might do a Japanese advertisement for Mondo Dairiten before actually releasing it. I'm not sure where it's going to be hosted, however. It's either Cactus' hosting (for whatever he uses to store his games online) or Vector.co.jp.
Also, I just need one more non-terminal line before the game is fully translated in-game wise. Whether or not I should include the terminal sequence is up to Cactus.
My personal choice is to not include it for two reasons: - Game Maker 7, once again, only can output from the ASCII table and not any other language table. That means direct Japanese input is not permitted; otherwise, I would be putting all this text directly into the game instead of going through all this trouble putting text on IMAGES. - Direct input KATAKANA fonts are all designer style. I can't really find a NORMAL direct input katakana font online, and I don't have a font creator to transcribe all the katakana (and some symbols, numbers, and letters) into a direct input font.
Also, I thank my newfound initiation to the Cactus fan club. Thank you.
