The game's your average stylish bossfight bullet hell shmup, with a scoring system that puts focus on combos. It's a fairly gentle one, with a rather friendly start for the beginners, although it gets a bit difficult at the last few bosses (there are ten in total, as well as the optional randomly generated bosses). The player is allowed to choose how many lives he'll have, but the scoring will drop the more lives you select. The controls are generally pretty simple. Use Z to fire your machine guns, and X to shoot a laser that goes through anything, but has a lower damage/fire rate. You can also use C to find nearest hostile unit of the enemy's current active weapon layer. There is a trick to this though, if you align with the crosshair that shows up and press C again when you hear a little beep, you'll shoot out a few homing missiles. Enter and arrow keys to navigate the menu and to move the ship. h1.ripway.com/cactussoft/Cactus%20Soft/games.htmor 64digits.com/users/cactus/fracfight.zip

You must be disappointed by the lack of response, but... I like this one a lot, it is a good concept.
Hmmm... speaking of fractals, have you ever tried Fractal Forge? It's a program that generates Mandelbrot set... it's fun to run on a modern machine because it is so fast. I recommended it, it's also GPL and can be found on sourceforge.

This game actually got more attention than I would've thought. It was only a one day experiment. I'm happy with it, though.

I find it very entertaining - it's a neat game to play when you've got nothing else to do. Perfect time killer

This is my favorite time waster. I have a question though. How did you make it so the ship's limbs are all drawn as one huge polygon (instead of all the separate sections being visible independently)?

You draw the outlines first, behind all the parts, and then you draw the filling ontop

Hehe. I managed to discover this technique independently on my own once

Oh wow. That's much simpler than I thought. I was trying to do it with surfaces.

I had to register for these forums simply to tell you this...
My younger sister (twelve years old) was playing this game, and, although she later became addicted to it, after losing the first time she said, of a game called "Fractal Fighter:"
I promptly started literally rolling on the floor laughing, and she didn't get the joke.
Hope you found it as funny as I did! Keep up the awesome games! (Former GM user meself.)

I've been playing this for a while now. Waited about 10-20 minutes for the score to finally stop counting up. h1.ripway.com/RipJhoto/High Score/High Score.PNG[/img]
