Typical cactus - the people are waiting for those several games you claim to be working on, and you keep releasing something new and unexpected. Looks interesting (and slightly epileptic). Onto downloading... Edit: Okaaaay? Not my cup of tea, I guess. I'm totally lost athe second area. I seem to be able to reach the orbs like the one in the first area, but... is that the point? The trailer doesn't help. I always wind up in total darkness

People complain when I don't release any games, so I decide to make a few short ones for competitions, and then people complain because I release games...

I beat three levels and then my eyes couldn't take it any more. Which is a shame. :edit: Beat it. I like the huge ladder Also these screenshots look way less hard on the eyes than the actual game.

For me its really confusing. I enter one of those portal things, then I'm in a void with the floating dots and I cant leave it, so then I have to quit and try again, and I always get stuck in a similar situation with either these weird tube snake creatures or moving wall things.

Hey, I'm not complaining, just saying there are some things some people would prefer to see released some more

Hey, I'm not complaining, just saying there are some things some people would prefer to see released some more But they're not done yet so how is that relevant to the situation?

Let's call it "issues in time allocation". Gah, whatever. I really don't mind you releasing new games as long as some of the old-promised projects shall come into existence someday (or even without that... since otherwise we'd be left with nothing... so yeah, forget my whole argument!)

This is what you're being put up with, technically. You're not alone in this situation; there's a lot of this with other works and creators all around various industries.

I would love to play this game. I got a tiny taste of it. It loaded up one time for me and I got stuck. The second time I tried to play it and every time from now on, I get a message that reads "ERROR: Unexpected error has occurred when running the game."
If anyone knows of how I may be able to fix this problem and get it running I would be most happy to hear from. This seems to be a problem I am having with quite a few Game Maker 8 games.

I do so like this game. Abstract in graphics (awesome, awesome graphics), but not necessarily in concept though. I think, Cactus, as you were aiming for that 'Alienated feel', you certainly achieved it. However, I found that after the first "shape" challenge and being returned to the main area with CAT and herds of skittish M's, my mind realised "Oh I think I get it. There's the main world and then the other shapes' worlds where I have to achieve something." To put the fine polish on your goal of alien-world immersion, I think you would have needed to take a step away from the somewhat linear method of going to a world, and achieving a task and returning. For example in your game Psychosomnium, it's a platformer in many senses - but you begin to take a step away from what is implied when someone mentions a "platform game" by creating an atypical method of progressing through the game, by killing off the character, etc. Mind you I realise this game was developed in a short ammount of time - my critique isn't intended to point out any weaknesses in this game, but to share my thoughts about possible things that might be interesting for you to experiment with in the future.

Sorry - wrong word use, I was intending to say "genre" rather than "concept". The concept was good with the whole 'alienation' goal.
