The first Cactus game I ever played was Xwung and I love how simple and addicting it is... Looked up at my clock and an hour had gone by! : D

I'm surprised so many people liked God Came to the Cave. To me the game was little more than wandering around a dull environment matching colors. Illegal Communication stands out in my mind by having one of the most unique and memorable bosses. Fuck Space! is the best elucidation on the irrelevance of shooter storylines. Then you have to give props to the Mondo series. Commanding, dynamic, and thought-provoking gameplay. Stench Mechanics... It's a complete universe. And I must agree here, Stench Mechanics is completely immersive. Also, the graphics and layout, where you can see several rooms at once on screen, are the most visually exciting of Cactus' games. Psychosomnium is his most sublime work, for executing so brilliantly a dreamlike world. It is like Venbrux's Karoshi 2.0 -- a succulent parody of game mechanics -- but with a charming story. Also, the earnestness of its characters and a hilarious ending makes this one really endearing. But my pick for favorite Cactus game goes to... DECONTROLOGIC! A game where, until the ending, we haven't the slightest clue what it's about, but are always intrigued to find out what happens next. An incomprehensible IQ test, a woman who complains about the heat and is inexplicably larger than the other characters, an entrancing show and music when we flick the power on -- these weird little touches transcend the game beyond the adventure genre. Unlike Psychosomnium, D-logic's doesn't require twitchy reflexes and so is accessible to most casual gamers; I show it to all my friends. But the best part? (spoiler!) The ending, a ridiculous one-liner that completely undermines the elusiveness of your character's objective. It had me laughing for hours.

Haha, I never would've expected anyone to pick Decontrologic as a favorite, but I agree that it's actually pretty decent. I just wish I had made it a bit longer, but that goes for all my games, I guess...

I just went back and played Decontrologic. It certainly is a Cactus game.
Although it reminded me why I hate one aspect of GM games. More than once I mindlessly pressed Esc to get out of the computer screen in-game, and killed the game.

Psychosomnium... If the gameboy still existed as a publishing platform it would have made an amazing full game...

Mondo medicals, It's just funny and I'm sad to admit I couldn't play through it the first time. It's the only scary game I've ever played that scares you once and that lasts through the whole game.
