Scary game. But, are you ever going to make just a normal FPS?

Whoa! I really like the story in this. I've only gotten up to stage 4 so far--damn laser indians keep sneaking up on me--but I'm really going to try to finish the rest soon. Good stuff!

Scary game. But, are you ever going to make just a normal FPS? I don't see that as possible considering that I'm using GM and don't have any edge on normal FPS games if I go for normal. Might make something more action-oriented, but not anytime soon.

I almost gave up on level 2, but I kept at it, and eventually got to the top. Then I had no problem getting to level 7... at level 7, I killed everything...and nothing happened =(, so I had to quit =(.
I really enjoyed it once I got past level 2. I'm glad that not all the levels were as hard as that one. The atmosphere was cool, and I loved the cut scenes.
By the way, level 4 and level 7 are easy to complete if you just jump up on the pillar. The enemies can't reach you, but you can still shoot them =).

Hey Cactus, I think there's a bug in level seven - first time I played it I went to the exit before I'd killed all the enemies. Only that time it sent me back to the start of the level - when I then killed all the enemies, the ending wouldn't light up so I was stuck in the empty level (Congrats, btw, loving this so far )

Yeah, I noticed that bug today too, Echo. I'm really sorry, had no time to bugtest it properly. Will fix it tomorrow

Brilliantly sinister game and inspired geometry, especially the village level.
I also experienced the bug in the seventh level, I noted also that if you press down two of the buttons on the special encounter level, the sound effects will carry on playing even if you fall off and restart the level.
I don't believe you use Gamemaker to make this stuff, it feels more like you've nailed bits of raw game together.
N.B. Any chance we could have a script of the speech from Mondo Medical/Agency? I absolutely love the eerie text, but I can never really remember it accurate enough to quote it.

I think I fixed all the bugs and made some of the more difficult levels easier, plus added a few details to spice things up a bit. Please go to the frontpage and redownload if you liked the game and want to give it another go. jeru: Just for you: 64digits.com/users/cactus/mondospeach.txt

I reversed the message during the text. Is that your voice or did you sample it from something?

So it IS a sample.? Can you PM me where you got it from? I love knowing where different bands and stuff get there samples from.

I never actually said my opinions about this game.
I love the graphics, coding, dialogue, sounds, questionable story, and almost anything else, but the gameplay itself. I am not one for puzzle games. Sometimes puzzles are fun side missions and such, but I really hate games focused on puzzles and frustrating jumping physics (level 2). Some puzzle games like Lumines are fun though.
However I did like the dark confusing feel to the game. Making it all black and white (except for a few things) adds a feel to the game you wouldn't get if it had more color.
Everyone else seems to really like the game though. So keep doing what you are doing I guess.

I Some puzzle games like Lumines are fun though. lumines is a puzzle game now? does that make tetris a puzzle game too? if so i think "puzzle" is no longer a useful term. i think that this game is less good than mondo medicals. the gun is not a good addition, i would have preferred something gunlike but more creepy, incomprehensible or bizarre. the feeling is good, but much the same as in medicals. medicals had better text. but i am complaining too much. medicals was great. four cheers for the cactus.
