I'm really loving this one, both the style and the gameplay are awesome!
I only realised after reading your post what C did, so I’m going to have to go play it again now hehe.

Glad you liked it! I started feeling like making a game with music integrated into the gameplay after playing your game actually, although I don't really think I borrowed anything, or else I would have mentioned it. Tell me if you want a link on my link page (if you have a site that is...).

Graphically, this is beautiful. I can't say much else at the moment, as I can't play for more than a few seconds without dying because I've got no sound right now. That thing with the shapes that meld into each other (like with the exhaust and stuff) is awesome and has me perplexed.

No, I agree, I don't think this is anything like kaichou, so I don't expect any credit. I'm glad my game inspired you though, it’s usually the other way around!
I played it again using the C key and its even more fun =).

Haha yea, I tried to reply to it yesterday, but my comment didn’t show up for some reason! That is a lot of comments though!
To be honest I'm pretty shocked at some people claiming there is little innovation in your games. I can't think of another developer who innovates more. Even if I didn't like your games I think I would still appreciate that. Oh well.

Its true, Cactus, you're the most innovative game designer I've seen in years. I think you're matched with the greats of 90's. Those people on IndyGamer are idiots.

I'm sure he didn't mean all people in the conversation. I don't mind criticism really, and I agree that I haven't really made anything that is much more than experiments turned into smaller games. But I don't understand what's bad about that, so I don't see the reason for this particular debate It's kinda flattering to see a heated discussion about oneself, though.

Given the amount of time that you spend on your games and the fact that all you expect is a paltry (or exorbitant) donation for your more in-depth ones, they are really fucking rad. Of course difficulty and and balance aren't perfect (the best way to beat minubeat I've found is oddly enough never using bombs and only using screen clear on the boss. Granted, if I could learn his bullet patterns and dodge aptly enough the score would probably be even neater.), but I enjoy treating your games as surreal proof of concept sort of exercises. Not terribly time consuming, oftentimes quite difficult, and thoroughly unique as far as aesthetics and mechanics are concerned.
However, everyone is a critic and given the chance someone with a somewhat different opinion will rage over an internet forum over how much of a hack you are because they find it satisfying. Humans are pretty weird.

I'm the holder of the 26k highscore, and I can assure you that's not the best way to do it. The way I play, I always shoot down the left side, and use the bombs on the right side, archiving the 26k score required me to make _no_ misstakes at all, and dodging the bullet patterns in the boss phase.

i finally beat this game just now (2x actually on each of the color schemes) - the trickiest part was figuring out how to block the bullets from the boss at the end. i think my score was like 16,000 or something. nowhere near 26k, haha
